Jza
Hi I install xfce4 on my desktop, so I want to modify the menu that I have at the start of mandrake. Unfortunately I dont know how to know if what I am using is GDM, XDM, KDM or any other. I do know that I cant get into xfce from the graphical login so I used the console. However, I want to be able to get xfce4 on the menu and also know which graphical login manager I used. - How do I find out which graphical login manager I am using? - How can I edit it so I ad the option of xfce4? -- Pointers -- The graphical login manager looks like a window with NO taskbar, it says Mandrake Linux and after you select the user you are transfered to a different screen which ask you for your password and have a list block with the available window managers/ desktop enviroments. any Ideas which might be? Gowator
/bump I need to be at home To find out your current dm just (ps -ef | grep dm) Its likely to be mkddm.... since its the default. You might wanna consider a more generic one like gdm or xdm or kdm. personally gdm would be my choice ... but that becuase it makes remote logins easy.
