Guest shekeine Posted April 25, 2009 Share Posted April 25, 2009 HELLO everyone, I need help here..being a new mandriva user i am still having problems with networking it to windows.I have my computer running mandriva 2009.0 and my friends computer runs winxp,I have run a LAN network setup from mandriva and winxp assigning them the same IP range.My computer which has a direct internet connection through a 3g modem and we want to enable internet access from the winxp computer through my mandriva computer.When i ping 10.0.0.2 (ip for winxp machine) from my mandriva computer I get a reply but when i Ping 10.0.0.1 from the winxp machine I get no reply what could be the problem?someone please help.. scarecrow Posted April 25, 2009 Share Posted April 25, 2009 Are you using NAT (which I can assume since you use the 10.0.0.X netaddress range)? You may have better luck using the typical IP's for static LAN (192.168.X.X range), and static IP's instead of dhcp assigned ones. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
