phunni
Is there a central resource for kernel patches? i.e. a website listing all (most) of the kernel patches and what they do and where you download them from?
iphitus
www.kernel.org eg: the 2.4 series patches are here: http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.4/ The CHANGELOGs will have info about the changes from previous versions. Is this what you were looking for? James
phunni
Not really - I was hoping for a list of what patches were available and what they do. I guess that link is where I can download them from. Is there much in the way of docs included in the patch dowload?
Steve Scrimpshire
The patches on kernel.org are kernel patches to upgrade one step to the next kernel, not for adding support for certain things in the kernel until the next kernel comes out. Make sense? I looked and looked for you, but I cannot find one central site for kernel patches. When I upgraded my motherboard to the Asus a7v600 I had to hunt down the via southbridge patch myself. Got lucky and found it.
phunni
If I have the source code for one kernel - say 2.4.20 - and I already have it patched for low-latency etc... Would the patch to upgrade it to 2.4.22 work without conflicting with these previous patches?
theYinYeti
This is not exactly what you're looking for, but the WOLK project includes a LOT of the available kernel patches, and I suppose it has some explanation about those patches...
