Andrewski
Is it possible to add the keystroke Ctrl+Left and Ctrl+Right to make the cursor move by word? I grew used to that in Windows and have much use for it in my command prompt work. Thanks.
aru
Take a look to the "Key Bindings" section at http://www.mandrakeusers.org/viewtopic.php?t=2408 If you want to change that behaviour you'll need to edit the file /etc/inputrc or your user's ~/.inputrc (see man 3 readline for more details) HTH

I have a question for you, aru. You say there: Alt-bMove backwards to the start of the current word or the previous. (text mode only, doesn't work in X) Alt-f Move to the end of the current word. (text mode only) "Doesn't work in X". I'm using IceWM and I can open Eterm or gnome-terminal or whatever and it works. What exactly do you mean by "Doesn't work in X"? jlc
I think he was refering to X in gerneral like the web or other software. What you are doing is in a terminal window and is a part of BASH. # man bash or http://www.gnu.org/manual/bash/html_node/b...ashref_toc.html Now don't take this as me telling you to RTM = Read the Manual, BUT (and that is a big but) There is know way for me to explain to you everything you can do in Bash, Bourn, Korn or whatver your favorit shell is. Ok :?:
