zero0w
No sir, you are not dreaming. Bink Video Player for Linux Beta is FINALLY available for download. I tried and it CAN really play *.bik extension video! It is still beta and no full screen support yet but at least there is progress. http://www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm BTW, it is a command line only tool. You can enjoy your NWN cutscene movie in the meanwhile. :)

Guest JaseP
It shouldn't be too hard to develop a GUI front end for the thing. Maybe someone (who knows how to code,... not me, unfortuneatly) should step up to the plate.
DragonMage
Hmmm.. if this works.. maybe Bioware will include / code it into Neverwinter Nights : Horde of The Underdark expansion.. that means.. we can watch movies we are meant to.. yay :)
Guest Reader
I can use this player to play the Windows versions of the Half-life 2 videos perfectly; but once the video ends--how can I describe this--the indicator light on my box flickers solid red, apparently indicating that the hard drive is being accessed. This continues indefinitely, and I have to do a ctrl-alt-backspace, then a reboot to regain control. I am unable to check the terminal for an error message. Can anyone provide any insight into this? zero0w
I think Bink Player is flushing the memory data back from swap partition into main memory. Depending on your main memory size, and the size of movie playback (I once played a 120MB bik file from a Taiwanese-made RPG game), your waiting time will vary. Guest Reader
Ok, I'll give it a good wait, and see if it'll eventually straighten out. I have 256 ram and 500 swap.
