Guest technicka
I am trying to move everything I do over to mandrake. I was wondering if it is possible to encode divx movies on linux (it should be).. and if so.. what is a good software package to do it. I"m currently using gordian knot and really like it.. thanks. aRTee
mencoder from the mplayer package can also do it. Tough command line stuff though, don't know if you're ready for that.... ;) dvd::rip uses transcode by the way; with transcode you can do most things, but again, tough cli stuff.... DOlson
If you wanna try mencoder, have a look at my "front end" for it. I use my script usually, when I rip DVDs. The aspect ratio might be in need of some fixing, but I dont' use this that much. http://icculus.org/~dolson/files/dvdrip.sh
