Kprinter doesn't list my installed printer

I've installled my printer on lp0 and usb/lp0, but I can't print through Kpinter. No matter what system I select when the printer diallouge comes up, my printer is not listed, only the psuedo printers are there. I should mention that the test page printed out fine.

I went to Print Manager (KDE icon -> Configuration -> KDE -> System -> Print Manager) and tried to install a new printer, but the new printer icon was dim, so when I clicked on it, it didn't do anything.

Open Office and GhostView print fine, but it's a no go if I try to print using KGhostView or Adobe Acrobat Reader (which want's to send the doc to kprinter).

I'm perplexed. Where do I start? Thanks

So you work via CUPS?

Then look in the "cups-www-administration-tool" if all is set up well.

Then be sure not to firewall port 631 locally, that's the cups port. Without it, kprinter wont see it

If that's not enough, then ask again
