Guest maynord
I have several 9.0 machines in a network using NIS and NFS mounts. I also have several machines set up the same way using 8.2. The 8.2 machines work fine. However, the 9.0 machines lose their NFS mounts each evening when I go home. I must re-boot most of them in the morning. I've tried the usual NFS fstab tricks such as hard, bg, rsize=8190, and so forth. But this has had no effect. When I shut the machines down, I see a message saying that I have no permissions to mount the NFS directory - or the server is not available. Yet all works fine when I re-boot. I see that other folks are experiencing dropouts with NIC cards connected to the Internet. I don't know if the two problems are related. Is there something I am missing.....
