MottS
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86 arch" This is the unstable portage tree ... so be prepare to have problems while compile and after while running the prog (KDE or whatever). If you want to compile a stable system, restart from scratch and comment (#) ACCEPT_KEYWORDS. My 2 cents :? MOttS
jlc
BTW, change. ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86 arch" to ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" Also, the above code is if you want to use unstable/testing packages. Other wise I would leave that line #commented##

jlc
If you go into: /usr/portage/sys-apps/modutils is there an ebuild for an older versions? Something other than modutils-2.4.25, if so, try and emerge that and see what happens. What "kernel" are you useing?

jlc
I got final up in no time, go that route. Big thing to watch is how you edit your /etc/make.conf You will still have latest software, but there isn't any need for the testing stuff.
