Guest jackson2 Posted July 25, 2003 Report Share Posted July 25, 2003 Hi, all Have a speedtouch DSL connection here Always have to go to the Mandrake Controlcenter to the new Internetsetup There is a Connect button, another button appears "network-Monitor" and conn is established This is very cumbersome !!!!!!!!! Could not find a button to activate the connection but you can add a script to the start up so that it will connect you during your log in/startup. Gowator Posted July 25, 2003 Report Share Posted July 25, 2003 What you need is a script to test if the connection is already up. I'm not at my linux PC right now ... the start/stop are adsl-start and adsl-stop I think theres an adsl-status you can choose to test if its up or down. Personally Id copy the test part of say ifup which tests if the interface is up and stick it into a seperate script. That way you get one button which will start it if its stopped and stop it if its started. Most of the time I wanna start/stop i just do it from the CLI.
