Andrewski
If I install a program from source (configure, make, make install from a directory) and I delete the directory that it saved all that stuff in, how do I uninstall in the future? ramfree17
you need to install the source again, run the ./configure step and then pray that the developer didnt forget to put a make uninstall target that you can call. if you dont have the time to learn how to create your own rpm (or deb or slackpack) use checkinstall to create an rpm package out of the source so you can uninstall it using rpm -e. ciao! Andrewski
So, for most of you Linux pros, you'd take the source and compile it into an RPM so you could uninstall it? That may be the next thing I have to learn....
