Cable internet and Windows as network server

Ok, here is the situation. I used to have dialup until today and I was using DHCP running on MDK 9.1 to share the connection through Linksys Home Phoneline network cards. Well, because of the location of the computers, when they installed the cable, we hooked the cable modem up to the WinXP computer and it uses DHCP to receive it's IP from Comcast Cable. Can I share this connection without a router or a hub like I was doing the dialup connection? I cannot figure out how.

Apparently so. I just clicked on the network adapter for the cable modem in WinXP, went to the Advanced tab and clicked to enable the firewall and to share the internet connection. Then I went to my LAN adapter for the phoneline network cards and changed it in Windows from 'Obtain an IP automatically' to 'Use this IP address' and typed in 192.168.0.2 (the one it was using before). Then on my Linux box, I turned off dhcpd and started dhcpcd and it said it was using the 'old' 192.168.0.1 whatever that means. It's working for now, that is.
