Guest frumenti
My very fast 30ppm laser printer (Samsung ML2151N) on my home network and under cups prints 1 or 2 pages then pauses for 5 to 30 seconds or more then prints another page. Printing a 80 page document takes 30 minutes or more. I am using Mandriva Spring 2008. I used the "find network printer" when installing the printer. scarecrow
Is it on a windows print server, or as a network printer via ethernet?
Guest frumenti
Is it on a windows print server, or as a network printer via ethernet? Thanks for the quick offer of help. The Samsung laser has a built in ethernet port and is attached as a network printer to my LAN by ethernet.
scarecrow
A cups log file would (from the /var/log/cups folder) would be handy... but one thing you should certainly consider is avoiding time-consuming ipv6 queries by disabling ipv6 alltogether. SilverSurfer60
Has the correct driver been assigned to the printer I wonder? Have you tried setting up the printer via the HTML setup interface? The web interface is more helpful for setting up printers than drakconf, especially when it comes to networked printers.
