Steve Scrimpshire Posted June 12, 2003 Report Share Posted June 12, 2003 When I was sent 9.1, I was also sent a CD containing PLF and Texstar RPMS (wow!), which really helps me with my dialup. I have copied the CD to local directories /contribs/plf and /contribs/texstar. Now, since I'm assuming that urpmi -update (I'm not on my Linux box right now, so that might not be the proper command) won't work for those. Is there a way to use wget to check the remote servers and compare the directories there with the directories on my HD and automatically download the files that are different or non-existent from the ones on my HD? I tried DrakSync, but it asks me for a password and then tells me the host could not be found. This should be relatively easy to do. I know I can get the directory listing using wget, but I'm kinda fumbly with shell scripting. I'm still trying to work this out on my own, too and I might wind up doing it in Perl, since I'm more comfortable with it. TIA Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

To be in RSYNC with the PLF server, i had to obtain the password to their server for it to work. I doubt they will give it out to private individuals. But you could RSYNC with our server.
