DOlson
Get the new Loki installer version of America's Army Operations and check it out. It's over 300MB, so be warned. http://ftp.eongames.com/icculus.org/armyop...-lnx-170.sh.bin

zero0w
Is it just me or is it really like this ... ? The game lags comparing to Enemy Terrority.
Relic2K
Is it just me or is it really like this ... ? The game lags comparing to Enemy Terrority. I think the RTCW Engine runs much better and faster overall, so naturally ET will as well. Army Ops isn't that bad though.
zero0w
Thanks for the confirmation, guess I will stick with ET then :) .
DOlson
Well, ET/RTCW is using the Quake 3 Arena engine, whereas ArmyOps uses the newer Unreal engine (from Unreal 2/UT2003 era). Big difference between the two, both in graphics and requirements.
johnnyv
Well, ET/RTCW is using the Quake 3 Arena engine, whereas ArmyOps uses the newer Unreal engine (from Unreal 2/UT2003 era). Big difference between the two, both in graphics and requirements. I thought that ArmyOps uses a modified unreal engine? The graphics certainly look like the unreal engine as opposed to ut2003. Anyway I like AA but i much prefer ET as i like the fun of it(better than wolfmp!).
DOlson
er... Unreal 2 and UT2003 (and ArmyOps and Devastation and so on) all use the Unreal engine.
ravage
Unreal 2 uses an older codedrop America's Army and Devastation are around the same build as UT2003
DOlson
Yes. Same engine, just different snapshots. Point is, they're all the same family, as compared to the Quake 3 engine family. :D
