Guest Emanuel Pinho
Hi I have a notebook with a wireless card, model Intel 3945ABG. I am running on mandriva free spring 2007.1 64 bits. That card is not working. I have upgraded to kernel 2.6.24.4 to make use of the iwlwifi driver. The modules iwl3945.ko and mac80211.ko are loaded, as I checked by modprobe -l. The card is alive, as I can check by lspci. But when I try to use the Control Center>Network and Internet>Wireless it says that the driver ipw3945 is needed and not present. As you might know, that driver is already deprecated and the iwlwifi should be a replacement. The notebook have a dual boot. Under windows, the card works normally. I just can't figure out what I am doing wrong. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you Emanuel J C Pinho
ianw1974
I have an ipw3945 card, and I tend to just install NetworkManager and use this to manage my wireless connection. Maybe give this a go.
