arglen
when i try to play an mp3 ( which previously played) , amarok now stops processing the track after about 5 seconds - ( no sound during the 5 seconds - but the highlighted title showed that something was happening) i tried removing amarok, and reinstalling - same problem i'm using mandriva 10.2 limited edition , amarok 1.2 any ideas ? ( sound is fine playing avi's etc - so it isn't the soundcard) thanks
yossarian
I still don't understand if the problem is at HW level, OS level or application level. Was the file played on the same computer, or another machine? If on the same computer, was it played on the same OS? Does Amarok play other files regularly? Can you try and play the file with another player, like M-player? Many questions, but they'll help us to map where the problem is.
arglen
it's not just 1 mp3, it's all of them - i.e amarok was working as it should , and then it stopped altogether . it's not a hw prob. - and since i reinstalled amarok , it might be some os interference which is responsible. i haven't installed any other apps. recently . i did try to install m-player from the dvd , but the message popped up 'couldn't read files' is there another mp3 - playing app. for mandriva , or a way of playing mp3's in kde which i could try ? thanks
