jaraeez
Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue. I've installed Mandriva 2008.1 RC2 3 or 4 times now (various reasons!) & each time entering the password for 'root'. Once i'm in my user account & need to use an application that requires root priviliges I have not been prompted for a password! After doing a 'passwd root' all was well... a bug or is it just me? yossarian
It's not that I'm complaining or anything, but I'm running Mdv 2008.0 with Gnome (installed form live CD) and have no such problem. How come? Is this bug not universal?
yossarian
Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue. I've installed Mandriva 2008.1 RC2... Sorry, didn't see that the first time.
ianw1974
Sometimes being a member of the group wheel, means that you won't get prompted for password access to root. Although not always the case across different distros.
adamw
It's just a bug in 2008 Spring RC2 One, somehow the One installer doesn't properly set the root password. The bug is tagged release_critical, it'll be fixed before final.
