NTSC-based cable-descrambling?

I recently bought an ATI tv tuner and installed it and its working fine in mandrake 9.1 I read on a website about cable decrypters and decited to try it out for myself i found some information and found a program called FsckTV I went to their website and they have a couple of files but no documentation or how-to, support etc. There website is http://fscktv.fortyoz.org/ If any of you know how to do this i could use a little help or directions. = ] P.S. I have a bt878

I snooped around a bit and didn't get very far either. I'm still trying as time permits tho'

There's a lot of that in the computer world. <cough> my win XP </cough>

(only for that rare instance I need it)

I try to keep an open mind about stuff and sometimes try stuff just to see if I can get it to work.

From sheer theoretical point of view it should be possible. Anything like signal processing that is done with hardware can also be done by a sufficently powerful computer in software. Just take the example of modems, a really cheap modem is essentially just a speaker + microphone with a DAC and ADC attached. Not sure you necessarily want to play with it though.
