mindwave
strange question for the evening. so i'm trying to pick apart M1, MCNL and MPP installed and in putting all my files in one place where i can see them i've come acoss a file from my Mandriva 2008 Power Pack HD installed PC called kcore it resides in /proc and its over 1GB is size. anyone know what it is? and then there is kmsg which is in /dev it shows as a zero length file and yet it grown exponentially (it was 300MB when i stopped the copy) as I try and copy it. any ideas? thanks j
Ixthusdan
Read this link concerning kcore. kmsg is stuff the kernel says and is over written each boot, I think.
