wrc1944
I just looked at the Open Office and Mozilla directories for athlonxp at the ftp download site. After I right clicked and selected properites to calculate the sizes, both directories suddenly became locked to me- says I don't have enough permissions to open them. The "locked" icon replaced the regular folder icon. What happened, and why? wrc1944
Guest mahiles
Does this mean that Mandrake isn't using my processor properly if there are now specific athlon xp files? I can't really afford to download much I'm on a rubbish 56k dial up. Will my pc be fine just using what's on the Mandrake cds?
tyme
your pc will work just fine with the programs compiled as they are on the CDs. all these optimizations do is take advantage of certain abilities of the XP processor that other processors don't have. it's something for those speed freaks out there ;-) but you don't have to use it for things to work.
