Weatherbug For Linux (mandriva)

First for those who don't know there is a weatherbug for Linux. The main page and download tell you they may develop one. If you go to the link "Labs" at the bottom of the page you get to:

They do have a version available that says:

Debian package:

A Debian Linux distribution (Debian, Ubuntu, LinuxMint, etc)

Red Hat RPM package:

An RPM supported distribution (Red Hat, Fedora, SUSE, openSUSE, etc)

JVM 1.4.2

Automatix: http://www.getautomatix.com/

Sun: http://www.java.com/en/download/linux_manual.jsp

Internet connection

 

I tried the Redhat package and it installs but hangs on run and goes away. I tried to uninstall the Classpath Java and install Sun Java but couldn't install the Sun. I got tired of messing with it and thought I'd try again after some sleep.

 

And finally the point. Is anyone running this on Mandriva 2007.1? Should I use the Sun Java or Classpath (Just for general use aside from weatherbug)? Which is best?

 

Weatherbug may be a lost cause because I can't figure out this requirement:

Sorry Yankee, I don't know why it's not running under 2007.1. For those interested in trying this app, I have downloaded and successfully installed the Redhat rpm with no problems under Mandriva 2008.

Isn't Sun java 1.6.0 in 2007.1 official "non-free" repo? :unsure:

 

(Me checks, and finds out this is the case indeed, so I fail to see what's the problem)...

Just install java from "non-free", and then the Redhat RPM. It's a java app, so not likely to depend on many things.
