Nooob
I am having kernel panic installing on a dual PII 333 MHz. Is this related to the dual processor, or should I be looking at something else, like the memory? Thanks!
Ixthusdan
Dual processors are not a problem. I have an AMD 64 dual processor unit with no problems. Better dig deeper. Is it already installed or is this a fully operating system?
Nooob
Just trying to run the Live CD now. Will keep digging. Thanks!

lavaeolus
Have you tried starting with the noapic kernel parameter ?
Nooob
Yes, I tried noapic without success. Will be able to devote more time to it this weekend, and report back. Thanks again.
lavaeolus
Maybe it's just the liveCD, I could not get Mandriva One to run on one of my systems, while a normal installation went fine. You have already tried with acpi disabled ? Edited December 13, 2007 by lavaeolus
Nooob
Had some time to do more testing... I had one stick of mismatched memory, believed to be PC133 but was PC100. Booted with noapic, nolapic and acpi=off. For some reason it did not like the PCI video card, and would hang on boot. Found a spare AGP card, good to go!
