Guest Shaun Dreclin
Yeah, this is rather annoying. So far I've got it to boot up from a CD, but I can't figure out how to actually install it. I don't think I'm using the DVD ISO from this site, because its burned onto a regular CD. (linux machine has no DVD drive) So uhh, is there a certain folder I could just copy all the stuff from the CD to? Or how should I go about doing this On a side note, I have an external DVD drive that connects with USB, if I plug it in, will it automatically work? neddie
If it boots from the CD, there should be an icon on the desktop called "Install to HD" or something like that.
scarecrow
On a side note, I have an external DVD drive that connects with USB, if I plug it in, will it automatically work? In short, no- not "automatically". New BIOS revisions do support booting from USB drives, but you have to enter BIOS and enable this feature. After that, you can install Linux from the USB drive pretty easily (funnily enough it won't work with a windows 2000/XP installation CD though, as the needed usb-storage driver is not loaded at startup...).
