If you are using KDe as Desktop just do this.

1. Open konsole

2. Write

cd .kde/autostart

3. Still in konsole, write

ln -s /usr/bin/pidgin

4. Hit enter, and now next time you log to yuor Mandriva account Pidgin should start automatically

I just gave it a try. I opened a console window as administrator from Mandriva Control Center and typed the above command and it said "no such file or directory". So I tried "cd .kde" and that worked but for some reason autostart doesn't work.

Could it be that the directory really doesn't yet exist? If so, if I create it from the cammand line and then try your method again, should it work?

If so, how do I do that please?
