Guest forficula
Hi, It does not appear to be possible to edit the menu in KDE. It is possible in Gnome. The option is there, but nothing haooens when clicking on it. Any ideas? Many thanks. [moved from Tips & Tricks by spinynorman]
esulcer
What do you mean by nothing happens? the menu editor doesn't start, or when you make a change it doesn't work? or what.
scarecrow
Simply "kmenu", although in Mandriva it's not wise to use it (it may even have been disabled in the latest versions). Same applies for Gnome. Use menudrake/drakmenu instead, this is the correct way to edit Mandriva's menus.
lavaeolus
sorry, but with the switch to xdg-menus in mandriva 2008, there is no menudrake anymore, and it is now safe to use either alacarte (the gnome menu-editor) or kmenuedit (the KDE menu-editor), changes to the menu will appear in both desktop environments, no matter which menu-editor you use (at least for me it worked). seems kmenuedit is not installed by default ???, but you can install it via rpmdrake or urpmi, just search for kmenuedit.
