Greg2
That could be a corrupt file on your cd, but I'm not sure? Did you check the md5sum of your iso? Did you burn it at a slow rate?
Guest rony
no didnt check the md5sum.......how to do that and i burn it on the normal speed
Greg2
OK, lets start with reading this: How do I check if my cd/iso is not corrupted? Now you will find the md5sum of your iso in the same server directory that you get your iso from. Here it is for your iso: your-cdrom-i586.iso.md5 If it checks out ok, then I would suggest that you burn it at the slowest speed you can. I use 2x or 1x. scarecrow
If the ISO is not corrupted, it *might* be a bad terminal configuration. Can you boot from a liveCD, mount your HD root partition and post us the contents of the file /etc/inittab ? Does the executable file "mingetty" exist in the /sbin directory? Greg2
Then I would suggest that you try booting with one of the parameters at a time. linux noapic or linux nolapic or linux noapic nolapic or linux acpi=off noapic Maybe you will find one that works for you. Let us know of any errors you get.
