Guest RHogskin
I am trying to install Mandrake 10.1 on a desktop computer built from parts. It has a Dell motherboard and I don't have much information on the motherboard. I have two adapters, neither of which are recognized by Linux. One is a 2-Wire PMCIA which uses a PCI card to attach to the computer. The other is a D-Link USB type. The 2-Wire Adapter has the following numbers: 02UT47333664, T/N 2B802825, P/N 019461/D. I have used this same adapter on a IBM T-20 laptop with this same OS, so I know it can work. I have never been able to make the other card work with Linux. I had one suggestion to run "lspci" to determine the chipset, but I am not sure how to use the command.
daniewicz
I can't help you with your problem but I do have a suggestion. A newer version of Mandriva will undoubtedly have improved hardware support for wireless adapters. The version you are using is over 2 years old..... ianw1974
I too recommend a newer version of Linux. There has been a lot of hardware changes and additional hardware supported in the newer versions.
