Kchm install problem

i can't seem to install kchm-0.6.5-5mdv2007.0.src.rpm on Mandriva 2007.

it tried ( rpm -i kchm-0.6.5-5mdv2007.0.src.rpm)

also (chmod a+x kchm-0.6.5-5mdv2007.0.src.rpm

./kchm-0.6.5-5mdv2007.0.src.rpm)

and the only exe i found was in /kchm/kchm6.5/src/kpart/kchm.exe when i ran it it said "cannot find my part."

Why not use the kchm in your repository? And you can not use a .exe file on Mandriva this is not a Windows maschine.

 

Have you set up your source list yet?

If not go to this site EasyUrpmi and follow the instructions on this site.

 

Open your konsole log in as root like this

$ su
Password:

 

And now you write or just copy/paste (still as root)

urpmi.removemedia -a

 

Now you can copy/paste ALL the list that you've got from the EasyUrpmi. (At the end you mayby will have to hit ENTER just once)

 

After all of this you can just in konsole type this:

urpmi kchm

Help

This is an src.rpm which means it contains the source code and needs to be compiled. So you can't just install it as any other rpm.

But Orts is right. Use the one which is already in the repo.
