liquidzoo
I install all my games in ~/games by default. It's just the biggest partition I have, so it seems logical to me; but everything works just fine for me. I'm not sure why it's not working for you. I would suggest going through DOlson's tutorial for your install of Uplink. Just substitute /usr/local/* with your directory of choice for your install. That should work for you just fine. You shouldn't substitute /usr/local/bin with anything. That's in your path on every Linux distro I've gamed on, and it's only a place to put a script to launch the game. The tutorial instructs you on installing the game to /usr/local/games/ just like every other game by default, so if you change that, you'll have to know what you're doing to change it elsewhere. That said, the game should work, and if you don't give us any error output, we can't help you that much. If there is no error output, then something is really messed up. liquidzoo
Sorry, you are right. I didn't mean to change the /usr/local/bin instructions. I don't use /usr/local/games at all, that's all I was referring to when I said to substitute.
