I recently upgraded to 2007.1 and am having the same trouble. It seems that I can't get more than 2X out of my system when 2007 was running between 14 and 16X.

 

Hi. enabling dma for the device should help improve performance.

 

hdparm -d 1 /dev/(your media here)
