Cannot get a gui interface to run on remote linux

Guest my321go

I can log in to my remote linux server as root however I cannot get a gui, such as mcc, to run on the box. It seems to fail due to there being no monitor attached at the remote site.

 

I can enter command line instructions... just don't know which ones to use :/

Have you tried "dummy" at the /etc/X11/xorg.conf settings?

It works for me, with no keyboard/mouse/monitor being connected...

Could you please expand on the above advice? At what point in the xorg.conf file is dummy to be inserted?

Thanks scarecrow. I'll see if I can find the /etc/X11/xorg.conf settings and make the change. Is this a change I can make at the command line?
