hi i installed red hat 8.0 it when pretty easy.

the problem is when I'm rebooting or shut down?

it logs off the never totalee shut off i have to power off to turn the computer off completely or if I'm rebooting any suggestion

If I understand your question, I think you need to check your bios and make sure that it is set to instant off, or something similar, so that it responds to power off. That would be my guess.

Haven't heard of this with RH but with ML9.0 the kernel came with acpi disabled in the kernel :roll: Takes a kernel compile to turn it on :shock: , or update the kernel to one that has acpi enabled. Search the board for "power off" to read the threads. Don't know if this is the case with RH 8.0
