neddie
This is something I've noticed recently using urpmi from the command line to update stuff. When I say urpmi --auto-select --update it selects the packages it thinks I need, and says something like: Proceed with installation of these 3 packages (11 MB) Y/n Which (I assume) tells me that the total download is 11MB. So then I say yes, and it downloads the three packages in turn - the first one about 1.5 MB, the second 3MB, and the third just under 1 MB. So why did it originally say 11 MB? I've noticed this several times, so I'm sure it's not just a single example. I realise it's a harmless niggle but sometimes I think the download is too big so I say no and do it sometime later instead - and then it turns out it's not as big as I thought it was... Anyone else noticed this? Could it be a bug in urpmi or a bug in whatever builds the synthesis.hdlist file? Mhn
It is possible that it show the size of the unpacked packages, I know that apt-get and/or aptitude do this.
