I_NEED_HELP
I recently bought a Digital Square 64MB Zillion MP3 player. It uses multimedia memory cards and USB for file transfers. I want to know if their is any way of transferring files to and from it in linux. I am considering going entirly linux but i have trawled the internet looking for info but it either doesnt exist or i am looking in the wrong places. P.S. When i saw the MP3 player i didnt think about linux because i was going to carry on dual booting my system, and the MP3 player was dirt cheap and it is a good quality MP£ player (in a Sale). pmpatrick
I think qnr's posts all deal with reading SmartMedia or Flash cards with a card reader. If you have a removable SmartMedia card it may be theoretically possible to transfer mp3s to it through a card reader. From what you describe, however, you want to transfer and delete files directly with the player attached. The only program that I'm aware of that can do that is for Creative's Nomad seriies of mp3 players. It's called "nomadi" and is a command line program which works very well. I can't see it working for anything but Creative Nomads though.
