Moshe
You can try it, providing that it supports resizing ext3 partitions. worked a treat - run Partition Magic 8 from windows and it recognises the Linux partitions so I just resized it and format the new part under FAT32 filesystem. Ian many thanks for your help with all these:) Any ideas what to do with firefox? I know I have 3 folders, 1 mozilla, 1 mozilla-firefox 1507 and another 1509 how can I get rid of all of them and go for a fresh install of firefox2? ianw1974
What procedures were you following trying to get it to work? List everything you did when installing java, and when it stopped working. If you don't remember, open the console prompt and type: history the commands should be in there somewhere.
Mhn
oh the joys of finding out new things:) I did try to install firefox2 but it keeps saying it is missing that .so file and have tried eveeerything on the net to get it working to no avail How are you trying to install it? It's in the repositories for mdv2007, so you should just need to install the updates to get it.
Helmut
Moshe, just a hint: The MCC (Mandriva Control Centre) has fantastic partitioning tools, in fact all you probably ever need. Just click on "Configure your Computer" or open a terminal and enter "MCC" and you will see. Helmut
ianw1974
They do, but unfortunately, you cannot use when the system is booted and partitions mounted ;)
