oldnoob
I am going to install 2007 soon on hda. Currently I have 2006 on hdb. After allowing for various other partitions, I will have about 110gig left to spare between / and /homeon hda. So how much space should I allow for my / partition and how much for /home? I dont want to allow too little or too much. Also will lilo after the installation give me the choice to boot from either 2006 or 2007. Or will it have to be configured afterwards? Thanks
ianw1974
I normally just allocate 10GB to / and 1GB to swap and the rest to /home. A complete full install to / normally uses about 6GB, and I leave room for other apps as well as logging, etc, etc, etc.
oldnoob
Thanks for that. On my previous installs I have allowed 20GB for /, that was obviously ample. Any thoughts on the lilo question, anyone?
Mhn
Mandriva won't add 2006 to lilo, but its quite easy to configure that afterwards too...
