Guest pfusco
Downloaded the DVD for Mandriva 2007 and installed it but, Im a little confused lol. Im pretty sure I chose the Gnome Desktop on the install sequence but it came up with KDE Which, while surprising isnt a bad thing as i do like KDE Secondly I cannot find the package manager or if its called the Mandriva Control Panel or whatever. Where I can dl packages etc. Oveall the install was painless and smooth. Just need to find out how the "system" itself works Thanks Peter
daniewicz
I am not sure where the Mandriva Control Center is located in the 2007 menus, as I am a Mandriva 2005 user. If you open a terminal you can type mcc to start this program. You will need to run this as root, so type su first.

Any Ideas? Thanks
AussieJohn
It is most likely a problem with the Mirror you used . Choose a different Mirror. You may even need to try a couple. I have had more troubles with mirrors in the last two months than I had for the entire past 2 years. I don't know what the reason is. Cheers. John. AussieJohn
That usually means that you have another of MCC already open. Close everything and then reopen just one instance of MCC to do your Packages install. Cheers. John.
