I was wondering if someone can aid me to speed up my drive, i kust buy a ide to usb conector but my hd has a very poor performance, and I want to know if can speed up or tweak like the ide drive with hdparm , mandriva 2007 says im using a sata_sil chipset and from the bios I cant change nothing. By the way, someone knows where or how can I flash my bios , im using a toshiba l35 (seems to be a L30 but the designation its for latinamerica) and the phoenix bios its quite inaffordable and lowly configurable. ianw1974 Posted November 6, 2006 Report Share Posted November 6, 2006 BIOS's on Toshiba's are very basic in configuration. Upgrades for your BIOS can be obtained from Toshiba's website for your particular model. From what I know, you cannot use hdparm on sata drives, only IDE.
