Guest bodko
My screen goes blank after 15 minutes when watching movies. Really annoing stuff, just cant watch movies on linux. Maybe it is very simple but I am new to Linux and cant fix it myself yet. It seems like some kind of power saving option or screensaver. I have already tried to turn off Monitor power saving options in KDE control center but it doesn't help a bit. Maybe it is X configuration or smth.... Please help cause I have to click my mouse every 15 minutes while watching movies.
Mhn
which program do you use to watch?
Steve Scrimpshire
This may seem like an obvious thing, but you may not have checked: Make sure you have your power-saving options turned off in the BIOS and let Linux handle it. I had a problem with this and it took me forever to figure out.
Guest bodko
In BIOS disabled ACPI APIC and installed linux without acpi support, turned off power saving in KCC, turned off screensaver completely, nothing works. Is there some configuration for acpi in linux maybe so I could set timer manually? I think there should be a solution or I am missing smth. Thanks for help in advance. scarecrow
Try disabling screen power management inside "kcontrol".
Guest bodko
Try disabling screen power management inside "kcontrol". Tried already, it didn't work. But it seems I have found a solution. Installed 64bit version without ACPI and powersaving in kcontrol is working now. So the problem is solved :D .
