neddie
Strange - I get the same error messages too, it doesn't matter what I try to plot. Last time I tried it was with 2005 and it worked fine then. This is with a 2007 install and gnuplot-4.0.0-10 rpm just installed from urpmi. Qchem
This is with a 2007 install and gnuplot-4.0.0-10 rpm just installed from urpmi. And what should I do? You should probably check if anyone has reported the bug to mandriva and if they haven't, report one. If you're desperate to use gnuplot now, perhaps you could uninstall the rpm and install from source. neddie
I just experimented with taking the rpm for 2006 instead (4.0.0-7) and installed it manually. And it works fine! Just choose a mirror near you and go to the 2006 directory, then media, then main, and download the gnuplot rpm (1.7 MB).

neddie
You should probably check if anyone has reported the bug to mandriva and if they haven't, report one.Well it was well hidden away, but I found two bug reports on this one, from September 1st and again on October 9th. In one of those reports someone reported getting the 2006 version to work too.
tyme
Both of you should go to the Oct. 9th bug (as it's for MDV 2007 and not cooker) and add they you are experiencing the same issue, to confirm it. This will help get more attention put on the bug.
neddie
Good point, I guess we should. Although the October one is now marked as "resolved" and "duplicate" so I've no idea if it still appears on radars. Both reports have been confirmed, and another "me too" seems a bit useless to me. Ok, the real reason I didn't add "me too" to the report was that it started asking me to login, and then to register, and then to enter my email address to get another password, and all that just to confirm what's already been confirmed seemed like overkill. neddie
Nice one, tyme, it looks like they listened to you!
ianw1974
They never did anything with my bug report. Never replied, nothing, and it's been there for two months.
neddie
Looks like a similar problem affects the editor Scite. I wanted to try it out, got it from urpmi but it borks straight away on start with a free(): invalid pointer. That was reported to the Mandriva bugline back in June but for some reason still says "unconfirmed".
