Language - Country/Region [solved]

I tried to change Language - Country/Region with MCC, but I cannot find Romania in the Country list. In the previous versions of Mandriva it was. Now it isn't included?

Also I cannot change the keyboard layout. If I go at KDE CC at Regional and Accessibility at Keyboard Layout and chose another KL in the task bar a small "err" appear instead of new KL.

Have you applied updates to your system? I can happily use English/Polish on my system.

I updated my system and it still doesn't work. I think that some packages are missing, because in MCC when I try to add new Languages the list of countries are just from Asia Pacific zone. I think that I must install some additional languages but I don't know how.

# setxkbmap -model pc104 -layout ro
Error loading new keyboard description

I found the problem. For those who are interested: In the file /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/ro

at:

 

include "ro (std) ";

delete semicolon ;

the new line will looks like

include "ro (std) "

 

and you're done
