[edit maybe the PCI card is damaged, 2 HDs on the PCI card

givi the IRQ11 error so I gave up]

motherboard integrated controller SiI 3112 (version 2), two ports,

and I added a SIL3112 based PCI card, (version 1), two ports

both have same bios version sil3112a 4.2.27 (27 or 47)

I have put one sata HD on each controller. During boot (hardrake is enabled)

I get "disabling irq11" then boot hangs

Can two HD sata controllers share the same IRQ?

I thought about passing an irq command to the kernel for module sata_sil,

but how is it going to differentiate which card would need a different irq.

There is no option in the PC bios for the SIL3112.

(BTW 2 HDs on same card, none on the other and the PC boots ok)

Asus A7N8X-E deluxe + sempron 32 bits

integrated SiI 3112 [sATALink/SATARaid] Serial ATA Controller

Silicon Image, Inc. (formerly CMD Technology Inc)

version: 02

Thanks for any idea or pointers that would help my fruitless google search so far
