Guest repecmps
Hello, I'm looking for the kernel sources of the mandriva one 2007 $> uname -r $> 2.6.17-5mdvlegacy The sources must be install in /lib/modules/2.6.17-5mdvlegacy/build so that I can install the driver for my modem $> urpmi kernel-source $> unknown package They're definitely not on the CD. ffi
Welcome to MUB, I think the mirrors for 2007 are still a bit of a mess, try ftp://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr/pub/...ia/main/release for now else use 2007.0 community sources from easyurpmi

As for easyurpmi I don't know what it is.
ffi
See the link above: http://www.mandrivausers.org/easyurpmi/index.php it's an easy way to set up your mirrors.... btw try this direct link for the kernel-source: ftp://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr/pub/...2007.0.i586.rpm

Guest repecmps
Ah good, thanks for the help.It should work with this. Well, actually no. There are too many dependancies. Impossible to install by hand. No offence but I'll just give up on mandriva, there's not enough packages installed by default to suit my use of the OS. I needed a 1 CD distro with good hardware support. The hardware support is excellent, but the most basic utils were not present (make, gcc...etc) PS: To install the source I had the following errors: 1- unsatisfied glibc-dev 2- unsatisfied gcc 3- unsatisfied binutils 4- unsatisfied libopcodes That's where I stopped. ffi
Okay before giving up completely try this (you will loose plf and have to use cooker plf or wait a few weeks I guess) : urpmi.removemedia -a urpmi.addmedia main ftp://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr/pub/linux/MandrivaLinux/devel/2007.0/i586/media/main/release with media_info/synthesis.hdlist.cz urpmi.addmedia contrib ftp://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr/pub/linux/MandrivaLinux/devel/2007.0/i586/media/contrib/release with media_info/synthesis.hdlist.cz urpmi kernel-source-stripped-2.6.17.
Guest repecmps
ok, I imagine urpmi.addmedia main requires an internet connection? The problem is that I want to install the sources so that I can get an internet connection. For the moment I have to switch back to windows each time. Thanks anyway for the help. arctic
Mandriva ONE is only a basic CD for "desktop usage" and thus does not include compilers. The compilers are available in the 3 CD set from the mirrors. If you want a single CD with compilers included, I suggest trying Kanotix or Knoppix.
