I just installed the NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-9625-pkg1.run drivers and they seem to let me run 1280x1024 now, which I didn't seem to have available before. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Anyway to anser your question, you need to add some lines to your xorg, easiest way to do it is; install nvclock (it's in contrib) and there you will find a tab which generates the correct lines and add them to xorg.conf and restart X.
