michaelc
When I use YamIpod to mess with my iPod, it doesn't work. I click delete on an artist in Yamipod and it says it successfully deletes, but when I go onto my iPod, the artist is still there. Another thing...how come my iPod always says "Do Not Disconnect" when I connect it? Even when I unmount it, it says that. Do you think that the two problems are related? Any help is appreciated. mC
SoulSe
Do not worry about the 'Do Not Disconnect' message - that is normal and so long as you've unmounted, shouldn't cause any problems. Try using Banshee to sync your iPod instead - it's a better app and works really well.
michaelc
Where can I get a banshee rpm for Mandriva 2006 (if there is a way, I'd like to do it through rpmi.)? Edited September 22, 2006 by michaelc
scarecrow
You can also use amarok and gtkpod. And no, banshee is not available (afaik) through the regular Mandriva repos, while both amarok and gtkpod are just an "urpmi amarok gtkpod" away. Banshee tries to do what amarok is doing, but with gnome/gtk dependencies instead of kde/qt3 ones.
SoulSe
I wouldn't recommend gtkpod, in my experience it isn't great at working with the iTunes DB. Don't know about Amarok - never used it / KDE.
willie
I've screwed up the itunes DB off my daughters ipod nano with Amarok 1.3.8 with 1.4 it's seems to works fine. With GTKpod it works fine.
kmc77
GTKpod works fine for me also, and, as far as I know, it's the only one that will handle videos for a video iPod.
michaelc
I use GTKpod and when I try to make any changes, GTKpod displays them as I've made them, but on my iPod, nothing has changed.
michaelc
Nevermind...it has changed! I would like to personally thank GTKpod for deleting every file on my iPod without me asking it to. Piece of shi*.
