neddie
Well I'm not sure I can help much. All I know is that now it gives Direct Rendering:Yes in the glxinfo and a frame rate for glxgears similar to Xubuntu and Mandriva One. I think what might have done it is the line Load "dri" # direct rendering but I'll show you that whole section now if you like: Section "Module" Load "dbe" # Double-Buffering Extension Load "v4l" # Video for Linux Load "extmod" Load "type1" Load "freetype" Load "synaptics" Load "glx" # 3D layer Load "dri" # direct rendering EndSection Sorry I can't help further, I just know that that works for me! And I can live without the Intel driver. (goes off to watch the world lacrosse final again, this time full screen without lag :) )
coverup
I have all of these options loaded except synaptics (this is a module for touchpads AFAIK), but I can only get half of your FPS.
neddie
Yeah, synaptics is for the touchpad in the laptop, and apparently type1 and freetype are something to do with fonts. I can only recommend to type "glxinfo" to see if yours says "Yes" or "No" for direct rendering, and perhaps try out a live CD to see if the config of that is any different/better than your installed one. Unless someone more knowledgeable on these things wants to step in and help here? Or find as much specific information as you can and post a new thread about it.
