laiback
I'm putting together a new PC and am in the process of moving my data from the old to the new. But I cannot find how to move my old emails (I'm using Kmail). I've tried the export/import option without success. Any ideas. Thanks Edited August 1, 2006 by laiback
scarecrow
Fastest is copying the folder /home/laiback/.kde/share/apps/kmail to a pendrive. You can also copy the current kmail settings if you wish ( /home/laiback/.kde/share/config/kmailrc as well as /home/laiback/.kde/share/config/kmail.eventsrc ). Simply restore the above to the same folders on the new PC (if using the same username), or use the import wizard to import from the pen drive. laiback
Thanks...I'll give this a try. Ok I have them..many thanks. It might be worth noting that if you have created any subdirectories within your Inbox they are stored as hidden directories i.e. with the dot as the first character, in my case .Linux and .Keep, within the kmail subdirectory. Solved...thank you
scarecrow
Yes, I guess I should explain that a dot before the directory name always means (in Linux) that it's a hidden directory... sorry for the omission, but I thought it's self explicable- apparently it isn't.
