What refresh rate are you using for your monitor? Maybe it is too low?

i don't know what refresh rate is...where can i find it?

it's 85 HZ (highest thing i guess)

i did change the screen size which helped a bit in that forms don't lie down the page

i'll keep looking

85 sounds good for a CRT monitor

Try adding a DisplaySize line in the "Monitor" section of /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Here is what mine looks like:

Section "Monitor"

Identifier "monitor1"

VendorName "Plug'n Play"

ModelName "NEC FE2111SB"

HorizSync 30-115

VertRefresh 50-160

DisplaySize 401 302

EndSection

Where 401 and 302 are the physical dimensions of my screen in mm

did that...but didtn' do much

the only thing that seems to work is making my font really really lart ..something like changing the resolution to 800x600 did the trick, but made desktop unusable because everything expanded will beyond the monitor

I am assuming you are running Mandriva 2006? If so, have you updated your installation with urpmi?

I do not know what else to suggest. I am hoping that someone else here will have an idea.
