I too have a Speedtouch 330 and had trouble with the microcode. I made the mistake of assuming that as my modem is black then the microcode for black modems was correct.. wrong. Eventually I tried a microcode file called rev4fw.zip, which worked first time. Don't forget that it needs to be copied into your Speedtouchconf???? directory before you run the script. Details are on Steve Parker's site. (see sticky). It also seems to be a good idea to clear out any Mandriva installed Speedtouch software before you proceed. Steve does mention this.
